Free Manhattan Parking Tip!
If you’re coming to New York City for a short visit and have a car under warranty, get something minor fixed at a dealership while you’re here. They’ll store your car for a day or two.

Airlines to Offer In-Flight Access →
This is one of the biggest technology stories of the year, if not the biggest. I’ve always said that the first airline to provide Internet access will dominate the market until others catch up. As an analogy, think of how well an airline that offered in-flight heroin would do servicing a nation of heroin addicts.

Dan hits on girls that clearly are with their boyfriends in Central Park. This was so uncomfortable to watch for me.

Observation from Chess Champion Josh Waitzkin
Over the course of a riveting 75-minute discussion of the birth of Gandhian non-violent activism, I found myself becoming increasingly distressed as I watched students cruising Facebook, checking out the NY Times, editing photo collections, texting, reading People Magazine, shopping for jeans, dresses, sweaters, and shoes on Ebay, Urban Outfitters and J. The Tokyo subway system is so easy to use that an English speaking ten-year-old could figure it out in a few minutes. To summarize, it’s perfect. The trains are clean, quiet, comfortable, clearly marked and scheduled. I haven’t waited more than three minutes for a train to come since I’ve been here. In terms of cost, each ride seems to be a little over a dollar. Everybody keeps...

"Same-sex Marriage Poll" -- Fake Meme of the Week!
I’ve seen the following on a few friends’ blogs and can’t help but think what a simple yet brilliant tactic the “he’s doing a poll” line is. As common sense would tell you, the Governor is not conducting a call-in telephone poll. The number given is simply the general comment line that the NY governor’s office has used for years (see this from 2001, urging...

Will Facebook be sold within the next year? A question I’ve heard asked countless times over the last, well, few years. So here’s some insight — that could very much depend on who wins the presidential election in November. Currently, the federal tax rate for a capital gain (making a profit from an asset you’ve held for over a year) is 15%. Many suspect that with a...
