September To Remember- Halftime Report
At the beginning of this month I decided, for no particular reason, to make this month “September To Remember.” (Yes, it’s been pointed out to me that this sounds like a Lexus sales event). The idea is pretty simple — as a rule, every day of the month I have to do something memorable. No excuses. So far, I’ve been able to stick with it.
Pros: I’ve done a lot of fun things I might not have if I wasn’t on a plan that forced me to consistently find something interesting to do (first NFL game, a dance class, day trips, picnics, premieres, etc). Also, you’re inherently forced out of your comfort zone when you’ve gotta find something.
Cons: It’s been pretty exhausting to do something significant every single day with no days off. And tons of pressure — yesterday afternoon I realized I didn’t have anything memorable planned for that day so I spent the next few hours scrambling for a worthwhile activity. On a tip, I ended up driving to Queens with a friend to try what’s regarded as the best Thai restaurant in the city. It was great.
We’ll see if I can keep it up for the next two weeks. Hoping I don’t get too worn down and/or have to resort to filling up an empty day with getting a colonic.
