She was negotiating a rate for the song, until they never got back to her. No fee was agreed on, no contracts signed. I find this hard to believe. Knowing what we have to go through to get music and licenses cleared for CollegeHumor, I highly doubt that Fox/NewsCorp, after decades of successfully running The Simpsons, was careless enough to leave themselves legally liable like this. Though you never know. Let’s see how this develops — perhaps they’re using it through a fair use / parody claim or an ASCAP fee, etc.
