Spirit Airlines: Why you should NEVER fly with them.
Deceptive business practices and unfair consumer contracts (e.g. cell phone cancellation policies) infuriate me to no end. As a consumer, I hate feeling manipulated and helpless. When companies suck, they deserve to hear about it - loud and fucking clear. Spirit was indeed cheaper than JetBlue, but sometimes you definitely get what you paid for. Link to Digg the post.
Spirit decided that I wanted the optional travel insurance ($12 per person), and also enrolled both of us in a 3 month Spirit membership “trial offer” which cost $10 per month per person. No wonder the price had magically increased by $40 (kinda like spyware).
Speaking of customer service, two organizations that have impressed me with their service during my recent move are Flat Rate Moving and Best Buy’s Geek Squad phone reps. Verizon’s phone service is rude and Time Warner makes it impossible to downgrade your service (I was transferred six times before I decided to hang up.)
